I started implementing a new Python web application framework aimed at teaching web application concepts. The first article gives an outline and two additional articles, both detailing jQueryMobile plugins are ready:
The guys at Packt asked me two review two promising Blender books. The Blender 2.5 Character Animation Cookbook by Virgilio Vasconcelos proved to be a valuable addition to your Blender library: excellent coverage of both rigging and animating a character, well organized and very practical. Read my full review here. Blender 2.5 project development hotshot by John E. Herreño turned out to be ok but also a little bit disappointing. You can read why in this review.
The goal of this website is no different than many other personal websites: to showcase my interests and hobbies. Web development, specifically with Python and Javascript, is what my blog is about but this site tries to go more in depth on the Python part and covers Python related things that don't relate to web development (Blender scripting for example).
You can also find quite a lot of pictures here, for example a selection of photos of pigs and a sample of my Blender artwork.
Of course this website is also a shameless plug for the books I wrote myself. Two so far, most recently
Python 3 Web Development Beginner's Guide. Both the e-book
version and the print version are now available on the publishers website as
well as on the websites of the major on-line book stores.
Writing the book was hard work, but the attention and skills of the people at Packt Publishing and the reviewers of the book were a great help. Kudos to them!
My previous book was about
Blender Scripting and was a great experience to write as well.
The old website was in dire need of a redesign so in the first quarter of 2011 I did a total redesign. The old content is still available of course and some of that content will reappear in an updated form on this new site.
