Programming Collective Intelligence: Building Smart Web 2.0 Applications
Author: Toby Segaran
ISBN: 978-0596529321

A practical guide to datamining in web 2.0
Review
Although the book comes with many interesting examples written in Python, these examples lack reusability and a clear pythonic feel. This may all be a matter of taste of course and to be fair: this book does provide interesting insight in how code can be written to collect information on consumer preferences, facilitate information retrieval or optimize travel schedules or learning to filter spam to name a few topics. Also every example is explained step by step in a clear language with attention to relevant details. All in all this book is worth checking out, the more so because it difficult to find quality information about these various but related subjects on the web.
