The Earthsea Quartet
Author: Ursula Le Guin
ISBN: 978-0140348033

Fantastic but very human tales.
Review
Contains four famous books:"A Wizard Of Earthsea", "The Tombs of Atuan", "The Farthest Shore" and "Tehanu"
Normally I don't bother with fantasy as there is only so much dragons and wizardry I can stomach. Recently however I read some Tales from the western shore by Ursula Le Guin and immediatly I felt draun into the tales. The author has clear and very readable style and tells a real story. These are fantasy stories of course but all the sourcery and magic does not distract from the narrative or the concepts the writer tries to get across. Then I came across the earthsea quartet: four books in one, an excellent opportunity (and a bargain) to learn more about the storytelling excellence of mrs. Le Guin and I certainly wasn't disappointed. Tne stories 'flow' in an easy way and the words paint a vivid amhience without distracting from characters in the stories. Certainly a nice book for a sunny afternoon or a dark winter night.
